Why Jack Miller sat alone at the front of the grid
FitVision's MotoGP throwback drew millions of views, while commenters questioned its explanation of the unusual start.
Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 3,827,936 views a day, 54 times a normal first day on this channel (70,476).
Why This Rider Started Ahead of Everyone Else 😳🏍️
The tires made the difference. Jack Miller chose slicks while the rest of the MotoGP grid prepared for wet conditions, leaving him in a remarkably lonely starting position when the track dried.
FitVision's retelling drew roughly four million views in its first day, far beyond the clips channel's usual start. The footage comes from the 2018 Argentine Grand Prix, not a new race, and shows Miller on his Pramac Ducati with a stretch of empty asphalt behind him.
The Short explains that the other riders went to change tires before the start, while Miller's dry-weather choice allowed him to stay put. Its narration presents the gap as a regulation-driven penalty for everyone else.
That explanation is where the comments get more interesting. Several viewers argue that the displaced grid was a safety solution to avoid sending so many motorcycles out from the narrow pit lane together, rather than simply the standard penalty described. Others challenge the narration's account of Marc Márquez moving forward, saying he was trying to restart a stalled bike.
The discussion was about ten times busier than FitVision's usual first-day comment section. Alongside the rules corrections, viewers kept asking the question the Short leaves unanswered: did Miller actually win?
