Gbay99 set out to level, and the lore got him anyway. His only new video, "The hardest stretch of leveling in Classic WoW...", follows his warrior through the forties with a deadline in mind: the description says he needs to reach 60 before WoW Forever arrives, and that the game's story keeps getting in the way.

The comments are full of that tension. The moment viewers quote most is his plan to run Uldaman because it would not distract him with lore, which the dungeon's long-time players found very funny. Others point to a "simple quest" that turned into a famously long chain, and a lot of people are still mourning an Alterac Swiss he bought at auction for far more than the cheese was worth. One viewer who sent him an in-game hint about the Shady Rest Inn turned up to explain that it was a tad too subtle. A geologist dropped in to describe what kind of landscape Thousand Needles resembles in the real world. And the sharpest-eyed fans credit him with noticing that initials on a necklace in Uldaman match a ring found in Gnomeregan.

The new episode drew more than 300,000 views on its first day, and it is the video doing the most work on the channel now. Behind it, his February experiment "I Tried Classic WoW (with no nostalgia)" keeps finding viewers and sits past 860,000. The channel is running at about half its usual daily pace after the big lift we reported here last week, and it still added a few thousand subscribers.

Among strategy and role-playing channels of similar size, MadSeasonShow had the busiest week by a distance, while Rimmy Downunder and wowcrendor ran above their usual pace. Gbay99 sits fourth in the group on both size and views gained.
