Goku faces Beerus in Super Saiyan 3, leaving the Super Saiyan 4 possibility Geekdom101 previously explored off the screen. Now the question is what that absence means for Dragon Ball Daima's place in the story.

Geekdom101's episode breakdown drew roughly 950 comments in its first day, six times the channel's usual response to a regular video. Views were ordinary for the channel; the unusually busy conversation is the story here.

The host describes an episode assembled from trimmed material from the original Dragon Ball Super, with a remade fight on King Kai's planet. Bulma's cruise-ship birthday party and Pilaf gang scenes are among the cuts he identifies. Goku's transformation and Beerus's evasive movements receive close attention, giving the breakdown plenty to examine before it reaches the missing form.

The Daima discussion arrives nearly thirteen minutes in. Geekdom101 argues that strict continuity matters less to Dragon Ball's creators than online canon debates suggest, emphasizing Akira Toriyama's involvement in both works. That is his interpretation of the omission, rather than an announced production explanation for it.

Viewers offer their own possible fixes, including restricting Super Saiyan 4 to the Demon Realm. Others joke that Goku could simply remember the transformation later.

But another thread concerns something Goku does use: his instincts. Geekdom101 highlights his reflexive retreat from Beerus as possible Ultra Instinct foreshadowing. Several commenters push back on its novelty, recalling the retreat in the original anime too. Alongside the continuity theories, the comment section has become a close-reading exercise in what this version actually changes.

What viewers say

  • They could just make ssj4 a demon realm exclusive form. Problem solved
  • 12:07 this is incorrect. Goku instinctively reacting to Beerus was in the original Super as well, albeit not as well animated as the new version

  • SS4 is going to come back like giant piccolo. “Oh I forgot I could do that” lol

  • That shot of Beerus turning around after Goku goes ss2 is so cool. Like he's just mildly intrigued but mostly bemused at Goku taking it to the next level.

  • I really appreciated how well they showed how effortless it was for Beerus to avoid and evade Goku's punches, while also showing one sequence showing Beerus's footwork as the ground crumbles beneath them. It was almost like watching a grandmaster martial artist fight someone with little to no fighting experience. Really great choreography imo.
  • The remake is actually making Beerus come off as scary and terrifying as he should be and I love it!
  • 8:05 that walk and transformation into Super Saiyan is so clean, I love how for a split second the hair looks a golden ultra instinct
  • 12:16 I'm just as big of a fan as you are geekdom! But I'm 100% sure Goku did the jump back in the original anime as well! I remember thinking, how did we miss that !
