Iguazu Falls in South America hits record 10 times normal water flow
Guardian News published fifteen videos over the week, but two very different encounters with danger account for much of the attention: torrents at Iguazu Falls and a police dog surviving a fall from a freeway overpass.
The falls footage, which we reported on here, is approaching two million views. Brown water churns around pedestrian walkways before aerial shots reveal the swollen canyon and mist rising above the rainforest. The Guardian reports that heavy rain pushed the flow to around ten times its normal level. It remains the channel's strongest source of daily views.
The Utah upload is the other substantial draw. Newly released Park City police footage shows K-9 Bruno jumping from an overpass while inspecting a suspicious package in September. The description says he was airlifted to a veterinary hospital and has since been released to recover at home.
Elsewhere, the week's coverage includes Katie Zacharia's legal-credentials interview and departure from the White House press secretary role, plus Volodymyr Zelenskyy's long pause when asked whether Trump was treating him as a scapegoat. A newer Paris protest report is also gathering views.
Across the channel, daily viewing is more than double its usual pace, while the subscriber total is unchanged over the week. Channel 4 News is also seeing a marked lift in daily viewing; CBC News is running below its usual pace.
