Cardboard becomes snacks in GUGUGAMER's Haaland parody

The clips channel adds roughly 80,000 subscribers in a week as its football spoofs move from hidden ice cream to miniature treats.

Why this story? The channel went from 294,000 to 374,000 subscribers this week.

GUGUGAMER has a new use for cardboard: turning it into real objects, just not quite at the intended size. In the channel's latest football parody, the Haaland character's experiments produce batches of smaller versions, while the Yamal character watches with a snack of his own.

These are fictional skits featuring football-player characters, not footage of the players away from the field. The new upload, "Haaland turns cardboard into real things?😃🍫", arrives as the clips channel adds roughly 80,000 subscribers over seven days, expanding its subscriber count by more than a quarter.

The cardboard trick is still a much smaller draw than the week's ice-cream skit, "What were they expecting? 😂🍦🤣", which has passed 26 million views. That one gives the Haaland and Michael Olise characters a remarkably unconvincing hiding place: a few lettuce leaves. Their attempt to conceal their ice cream from the Mbappé character meets an inconvenient mirror.

Between the two uploads, GUGUGAMER's football humor has little need for a pitch. Snacks, household objects and a plan that doesn't quite work supply the action.
