Jeanelleats serves a farewell feast, with extra chiffon cake
A Filipino-Japanese party menu brings pancit, curry and a giant SPAM musubi tray to Johnny's send-off.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
I Saved My Brother’s Butt With a Last-Minute FEAST
Cooking for a crowd is one assignment; discovering your brother hasn't planned the food is another. Jeanelleats' newest upload, "I Saved My Brother's Butt With a Last-Minute FEAST", gives Jeanelle three days to assemble a going-away meal for his best friend, Johnny.
The menu is generous: pancit bihon, Doug's Japanese curry, a giant SPAM musubi tray, vanilla and pandan mamon, and Thai tea. Her description also promises the less tidy side of party cooking: a cabbage salad abandoned, more chiffon cake than intended and the question of how everything will handle reheating. Johnny apparently doesn't even like dessert, making the mamon a particularly interesting offering.
But the biggest new audience went to the week's other upload, "Tapioca Balls FAIL ‼️", which has reached roughly 355,000 views. It also carries the channel's strongest daily momentum by a considerable margin. Viewers keep returning to the Las Plagas reference, recognizing Resident Evil, while others trade ideas for tapioca dishes from Brazil, India and Bangladesh. A cooking mishap has become a small international recipe exchange.
Across the channel, daily views are running above their usual level, although subscribers stayed unchanged over the week. Nearby food channel Sam Shan Shops had a much larger viewing week; Jeanelleats' weekly gain was closer to Sheri Wilson's and TIFFYCOOKS'. Among Jeanelle's older uploads, the anniversary gift video featuring an Ankarsrum mixer remains another active draw, a kitchen present getting plenty of use on the viewing side.
