Two feeds, one screen, one verdict. Seated on a rocky riverbank in Kyoto, Kai Cenat opens YouTube Shorts on one half of a folding iPhone Duo and Instagram Reels on the other, scrolls both at once, and sums up the experiment himself: "This is literally brain rot."
The livestream, billed on screen as episode two of Exploring the Unexplored, has drawn more than 900,000 views since yesterday. It opens like a travel film, with fields, temples, canals and old streets, before Kai welcomes the chat and starts unboxing. "We one of the first people to have this iPhone Duo," he announces. A Tokyo regular is missing from this leg: Ray, Kai tells viewers, stayed behind.
The gadget portion runs into setup trouble. Kai and an off-camera teammate wrestle with a screen share, then he tries the outer-display selfie preview, which puts his cameraman on the little screen. A shorter clip of the phone test, posted separately, has its own audience.
Then it is time for the water. The caption names the spot as Saga-Kameyama, on the Arashiyama side of western Kyoto. Kohei, a boatman in a traditional straw hat, helps Kai into a patterned coat and fastens his life vest correctly. When a boat packed with tourists drifts past, Kai shouts "I got the iPhone Duo!" and waves it at them. A moment later he is convinced he left his main phone on the shore, until he finds it strapped to his forearm.
The comments linger on the city more than the phone. Viewers praise Kyoto's hospitality, point out people wearing IShowSpeed merch, and float the idea of a joint world tour. One Japanese viewer suggests temples to visit and thanks Kai and the chat for being mindful of the people around them.
For a shorter route, the edited "I Visited Unexplored Places In Japan" has chapters for the boat ride, a monkey park, Kai dressed as a samurai, a kei truck ride and food tasting.

The numbers
A big Kyoto turnout, though for a channel this size, a long stream with this many views since yesterday sits within its usual range.
