Oregon mass shooter targeted special needs students, victim photos released
LiveNOW from FOX reports that the gunman who attacked an elementary school in Bend, Oregon, fired through locked glass doors to get inside. Three children and a teacher were killed, and another student and teacher were injured.
According to the report, a teacher threw a cellphone at the attacker and tried to tackle him. A father of students at the school then pursued the gunman and fatally shot him. Those interventions form part of the account authorities are assembling of Thursday's attack.
The shooting took place inside a special education classroom. Although the video's title describes those students as targeted, the report's description says investigators have not established what prompted the attack. The classroom's location and the question of motive remain distinct parts of the story.
The upload drew more than half a million views in half a day, already several times the audience a regular LiveNOW video typically receives over its entire first day.
