Folsom (CA) vs. Oak Ridge (CA) | MaxPreps Game of the Week Presented By T-Mobile
Folsom arrived at Oak Ridge with a long history between the schools: four consecutive section championship meetings, each won by the Bulldogs. MaxPreps' sponsored Game of the Week broadcast brought that Northern California matchup to the channel, with Jeff Kurtz and Zack Poff on commentary.
The description adds another wrinkle: Folsom quarterback Brody Rudnicki transferred from Oak Ridge. This was a homecoming with an opposing offense to run, not simply another stop on the schedule.
Across the week's uploads, though, the largest audience went to a much smaller football occasion. The helmet-handoff Short we covered here has reached roughly 710,000 views. Credited to DoubleBlakeFarms, it shows eighth-grade linebackers passing red helmets to seventh-graders outside a gym, with handshakes marking each exchange. Among the comments, viewers recall their own final games and the difficulty of leaving a coach behind.
A quarterback clip, "He was out there slinging it 🤣 #shorts," is drawing views fastest right now, giving the channel's football week a livelier counterpoint to that ceremonial farewell.
MaxPreps gained about 6.4 million views over seven days while its subscriber count stayed unchanged. Nearby in the sports-media neighborhood, Whistle had a smaller weekly viewing total, while NBA on ESPN's was slightly larger. For MaxPreps, the week's range was particularly clear: a full school rivalry broadcast at one end, a few seconds of passing responsibility to the next class at the other.
