Claudia is already inside her ex-husband's apartment when Jeanie lets herself in. In NBC's new Newlyweds sneak peek, Téa Leoni's Jeanie has just picked the lock ("So much easier than breaking into a Subaru"). Jamie Lee Curtis' Claudia, who explains that she drops by constantly to mark her territory, steps around the corner and takes the newcomer for the help. "Man-baby figured out how to hire a maid," she says.

What follows is three minutes of Jeanie keeping a straight face while Claudia runs down James's new partner, unaware that the woman is standing in front of her. Jeanie's own review of the girlfriend is generous: cool, fascinating, happy. Claudia saves her real grievance for the manuscript. She spent two years tiptoeing around the house while James wrote it, and she has a verdict on him: "Typical man: went to Norway, wouldn't go to therapy." Then she finds a note on his desk that reads "Do Not Read, Do Not Touch," picks up the whole unnumbered stack and throws it across the living room. Jeanie is left on the floor gathering pages as the door closes.

As we reported here, the first trailer sold the whirlwind marriage between Jeanie and Tim Daly's buttoned-up professor. This clip is about the people who come with him. Curtis also co-created the series, and Gail Lerner writes it.

The clip passed 50,000 views within 12 hours, far beyond a usual first day for NBC, and comments arrived more than ten times faster than usual. Many viewers bring up the McCords, the married couple Leoni and Daly played on Madam Secretary. Newlyweds premieres Friday, October 23, in the half hour after Reba McEntire's Happy's Place.
