Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Islanders vs. Maple Leafs | NHL Highlights | Oct 17, 2026

Simon Holmstrom scores twice for the Islanders, while Colton Sissons finds the net for Toronto in the NHL channel's most-watched new upload of the week. "Islanders vs. Maple Leafs | NHL Highlights | Oct 17, 2026" has only been up a couple of hours, making this a fresh Saturday-night recap rather than a settled weekly favorite.

Montreal supplies the night's recurring character. Cole Caufield scores twice against Buffalo, including the overtime goal that gives the Canadiens a 4-3 victory. The league gives that finish several homes: the full game highlights, a dedicated overtime upload and another clip titled "MR. SATURDAY. NIGHT. 😎". If you only came for the decisive shot, there is no shortage of entrances.

Elsewhere, San Jose-Detroit stretches through overtime into a shootout, with Macklin Celebrini scoring for the Sharks and Alex DeBrincat finding a tight-angle finish for the Red Wings. Connor McDavid's early goal against the Mammoth gets its own speed-themed showcase.

Across fifteen uploads, the channel collected roughly 22 million views over seven days and added 10,000 subscribers. Daily viewing is close to its usual level, a steadier picture than MLB's pronounced lift among fellow league channels. For NHL viewers, the distinctive detail is the editing choice: a whole game's story or just Caufield's winning moment, served separately.
