OperatorDrewski returns with Bellum's battlefield replay in focus
His only new upload follows a film-set detour, with viewers discussing how replays make squad tactics easier to understand.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
The Milsim Genre is So Back
OperatorDrewski's return has given viewers something to study beyond the shooting: the way a squad moves together, and how a replay can make that movement readable.
"The Milsim Genre is So Back" was his only upload of the week and has reached roughly 615,000 views. In a comment beneath it, Drewski explains that his three-week absence, his longest gap between uploads, came while preparing for and working on Wendigoon's short horror film.
The conversation around Bellum centers on its replay and after-action tools. One viewer describes how seeing the team's arrow-shaped advance toward a compound helped explain tactics that can otherwise be difficult for a newcomer to follow. Others discuss the importance of mechanics that encourage players to stay together rather than wander off alone. Drewski is a co-owner and investor in Bellum and may benefit financially from the game's sales or engagement.
The new upload is drawing substantially more daily views than either of his other busiest videos: the sponsored "I Cost Two Superpowers $48,000,000 With a Pistol" and the Nuclear Option outing "Nuking My Friends over Minor Disagreements." The expensive pistol premise that occupied our previous note now has fresh company.
Subscribers held steady over the week, while the channel added about 819,000 views. Nearby simulation and strategy channels had varied weeks: Real Civil Engineer drew a much larger weekly audience, while WolfeyVGC added subscribers. For Drewski, the useful new conversation is unusually specific: how to show viewers not just a firefight, but the teamwork inside it.

That replay system is incredible! There are so many games that would benefit from something as detailed as this.
@JahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhSee it on YouTubeThe replay system adds so much for the viewers watching the video, sometimes i find it hard as someone new to milsim games to understand some of the tactics and how well the players actually stick to said tactics. Kinda blew my mind watching you guys move up as an arrow towards that compound at the start of the video

The most important thing is for the game to have mechanics that highly incentivize players to stay as a team. The thing I hate the most in PvP milsim games is when you get punished for playing as a team and are often forced to play as a lone wolf, that completely breaks immersion for me and makes a 'milsim' game just a hardcore Battlefield game.
