Rank Dawg returns underwater for more sea-creature "glow-ups"
The clips channel adds 72,000 subscribers in a week, with its new underwater countdown making an unusually fast start.
Why this story? The channel went from 288,000 to 360,000 subscribers this week.
Frog noises and penguin moments have given way to an underwater sequel on Rank Dawg. The clips channel's newest Short ranks sea-creature "glow-ups," returning to a subject that already has a first installment.
It arrives as Rank Dawg adds about 72,000 subscribers in seven days, expanding its subscriber count by a quarter. The sea-creature upload is also moving much faster than the channel's usual Shorts, reaching roughly 285,000 views in its first nine hours. That is a strong start, though it is not a completed first-day total.
Rank Dawg assembles rankings from other people's footage rather than filming these animal encounters itself. The channel says its process includes selecting clips, changing the pacing, adding captions and sound, and arranging a payoff. Animals in unexpected situations are a recurring subject: its most-watched Short ranks how they look when wet, while dogs reacting to ice cubes also feature among its biggest Shorts.
