'Could change everything for Judge Cannon': Harry Litman and Ben Meiselas on Volume II
The MeidasTouch host joins Talking Feds to read through a new round of Eleventh Circuit filings, and the comment section keeps asking why it has all taken so long.
Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 527,251 views a day, 6.7 times a normal first day on this channel (79,259).
This JACK SMITH VOLUME II Filing Could Change Everything for JUDGE CANNON
Harry Litman did not take this one alone. For his newest look at Jack Smith's Volume II, the Talking Feds host brought in Ben Meiselas, the civil rights lawyer who co-founded MeidasTouch, and the two work through what the description calls a "flurry" of filings at the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
The background is a long one. Smith's final report as special counsel came in two parts. The first, on the 2020 election case, was made public in January 2025. The second, on the classified documents case, was held back by Judge Aileen Cannon, the same judge who had dismissed that case in July 2024. Her order is now on appeal, and according to the description, Trump is asking the appeals court to push back oral argument. The title goes further, billing one filing as something that could change everything for Cannon.
Seven hours after it went up, the video had passed 228,000 views, nearly three times what a regular Talking Feds video gathers in its whole first day. The comments moved even faster: in those few hours the video drew more than twice the comments a usual upload collects in a full day. Much of that talk is about time. Many viewers ask why a report finished years ago is still being argued over, and the old line about justice delayed turns up more than once.
It was a busy Thursday for Litman. He also posted a breakdown of a sharp ruling against ICE from Judge Gary Brown, a Trump appointee; an update on Judge Cooper ordering the release of the 163-page Kennedy Center report; and a midterm preview hosted by Jonathan Alter with David Graham and Molly Jong-Fast. Volume II drew more viewers than those three put together.
