Minecraft Ice Caves in an Ice Cave

A laptop balanced inside blue glacier ice is a long way from Mumbo Jumbo's usual redstone workshop. In "Minecraft Ice Caves in an Ice Cave," he heads to the Argentière Glacier with climbing companion Mathys, descends on ropes and opens Minecraft while wedged inside the ice.

The point is wonderfully literal: explore the game's new ice caves somewhere that looks remarkably like them. "Okay, that actually feels very realistic," Mumbo says. The cold soon prompts him to pack away the laptop, and the return journey requires ice axes and crampons rather than a keyboard. He explicitly warns viewers not to try it themselves.

That brief outdoor excursion was his only upload this week, reaching roughly 1.3 million views. Viewers have made the warning a running joke, pointing out the shortage of ice caves in their living rooms; others have found an upside in the laptop's unusually thorough cooling.

Back on the channel, the glacier clip now draws the most daily views. "Hermitcraft 11: Episode 29 - I'M LOCKING IN" follows, with its starter-base landscaping and beginnings of city skyscrapers, while the older art-gallery opening continues to attract viewers too.

Subscribers were unchanged over the week, but daily viewing is now almost triple Mumbo's usual level. Nearby Minecraft channels offer a mixed picture: camman18 had a particularly large weekly audience, while Bionic's daily viewing is below its usual pace. Mumbo's own change of scenery is smaller in duration than most Hermitcraft episodes, but considerably more demanding to climb out of.
