Tidal waters turn departure into a wait on The Mindful Narrowboat
The week's only new vlog finds a Lancaster Canal departure complicated by two tidal rivers and an approaching storm.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
An Unexpected Twist in the Waiting Game
A booking to leave the Lancaster Canal is not quite the same as being able to go. The Mindful Narrowboat's only new upload, "An Unexpected Twist in the Waiting Game," follows the awkward gap between a planned departure and weather suitable for crossing tidal waters.
The description sets out the problem: two tidal rivers lie on the route, with an Atlantic bomb cyclone approaching. Viewers discuss the decision to wait for a calmer crossing of the Ribble Link, but the smaller details have their own place in the conversation. An owl teapot, cooking aboard and Goosnargh biscuits all get mentions. One viewer even identifies the biscuits as their mother's handiwork.
That mix of waterway logistics and domestic life has brought the episode about 117,000 views. It is also the channel's busiest video right now, drawing more than twice the daily views of "Snuggled in the Rain as Everything Changes #297." That earlier episode invites viewers inside Alice Grace as rain pounds the roof and windows, with Zephyr keeping company. Weather has become a recurring character without needing a speaking part.
The channel added roughly a thousand subscribers over the week, and its current daily views are modestly above the usual level. Among nearby vlog channels, Bodhi Jako and Dr. Dot have had substantially larger weekly audiences, while Max Balegde has had a quieter week.
The older "Behind Me: An Irreparable Decision Has Just Severed My Journey #296" also continues drawing views. Its journey beyond the navigable canal proceeds by dinghy and on foot, a different way of adapting when the narrowboat cannot carry on. Alongside those practical changes of plan, the channel keeps its distinctive closing ritual: recording discoveries in a nature journal through sketches and poetry.
