The Spiffing Brit returns to Skyrim with an apocalypse deadline
His modded survival challenge makes every death shorten the time available to save the world.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
Spiff Vs Skyrim - Ultra Modded Hardcore Skyrim 100 days - Stream 1
Skyrim has given The Spiffing Brit plenty of loopholes to squeeze through. His new live challenge adds a rather inconvenient constraint: the world ends after a hundred in-game days, and every death knocks another day off the clock.
Two stream uploads appeared this week, with "Spiff Vs Skyrim - Ultra Modded Hardcore Skyrim 100 days - Stream 1" reaching just over half a million views. Spiff describes a setup with roughly two thousand mods, Legendary difficulty and survival demands that make food, sleep and warmth part of the problem. Exploits are very much allowed. For a creator whose signature joke is that these games are perfectly balanced, forbidding them would almost seem impolite.
The comments have their own priorities. Returning viewers bring up Chairman Meow from an earlier Skyrim run, trade lizard-wizard wordplay and repeatedly mention the need to buy soap. Others offer troubleshooting suggestions for disappearing hands. Even with an apocalypse scheduled, there is apparently time for technical support and personal hygiene.
The first stream is currently the channel's busiest individual upload. Beyond Skyrim, his recent essay about YouTube's view-counting system continues to draw attention, while an older Civilization VI challenge keeps moving with its wonderfully awkward restriction: no producing buildings or units, only buying what he needs with gold or faith.
Across the channel, daily views are close to their usual level and subscribers were unchanged over the week. Nearby in strategy and simulation, Real Civil Engineer had a substantial week for views, while WolfeyVGC added subscribers. For Spiff, this week's return also reconnects with a durable part of his catalog: his most-watched regular upload is the Skyrim challenge built around fighting with only a fork.

Ah Skyrim, you will never get old.
@asooxbmw5616See it on YouTube"Where have my hands gone," has to be the most Skyrim sentence ever uttered.
@gestaltdudeSee it on YouTubeLast I remember it happening, the hands thing where they disappear was from accidently turning off the shaders with the keyboard hotkey. If it's still the same issue, toggling Community Shaders back on solved it for me.
@jointjunkieslangardsSee it on YouTubeThe fishing quest line would be very funny with this character. King Glizzard vs King Mudcrab
@GrumpyForestHagSee it on YouTubeSpiff has finally accepted that He IS The Lizard King.
Go King Gizzard, the Blizzard Lizard Wizard!!!@popcultureisdead818See it on YouTubeFirst, love the vids. Your channel makes for some fun watching. Second, the actual title of this particular video should have been "Spiff spends four and a half hours getting yelled at to buy soap" 😀
