Ricky flew to Shanghai for his newest video, and it shows in the chapter list: TCP/IP limits, a "networking cliff," copper against optical cables, and the Atlas 960E SuperPod. "Huawei is Solving the AI Data Center Energy Problem - This SURPRISED ME" is his look at Peerium, the company's new computing architecture built on its UnifiedBus protocol. The pitch, as he lays it out, is that most of the power in the largest AI clusters is spent shuttling data between chips. Huawei says Peerium saves over half a megawatt in a single machine. The video had a strong first day, about 40,000 views, far ahead of how the week's other upload began.
It is really part two. A shorter Huawei video from two weeks earlier, on the same SuperPoD and its optical engines, is still drawing a steady crowd beside it.
The identity theft video from earlier in the week, the detour we wrote about here, has now passed 100,000 views. Its comment section is mostly viewers arguing over whether it is a video or an advertisement.
Overall the channel ran slower than usual and its subscriber count held still. Among similar tech channels, Nate Herk's AI automation channel had the big week, while Dave's Garage added almost exactly as many views as Ricky did.
