Cheap torch, glowing bolts: Workshop_Shorts tests garage gear
The channel's only new upload compares a Temu torch with a MAPP gas torch, while viewers question the flame exposure.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
Temu Torch vs MAPP Gas: Which Glows First?
Does the cheaper torch get a fair test? That is the question beneath Workshop_Shorts' only new upload, "Temu Torch vs MAPP Gas: Which Glows First?" Several commenters focus on whether the flames reach the bolts equally, rather than which bolt turns red first.
The description sets up two identical bolts, heated from the same distance, with an infrared thermometer checking temperature. It presents the MAPP torch as the stronger performer. The upload has reached about 20,000 views, a modest addition to a channel whose older workshop tests draw much larger audiences. These are controlled demonstrations, with real workshop sounds rather than narration, not instructions to imitate.
The biggest source of momentum is "$30 Loctite vs $4 Temu Threadlocker (Torque Test)," which has passed 11 million views. Its interesting wrinkle isn't simply that the cheaper product resisted more torque. As the creator explains, medium-strength threadlocker is supposed to come apart with ordinary hand tools: harder to undo isn't automatically better. The description also acknowledges that one sample isn't a verdict and promises a repeat with degreased threads, proper curing and multiple bolts.
"Bolt vs Hole - The Difference Is Tiny" keeps that threadlocker theme going, using clear acrylic to compare application methods. An older drywall-anchor load test is also drawing substantial daily views.
Subscribers grew slightly over the week, although the channel's current daily viewing is below its usual level. Its weekly views were substantially higher than those of the nearby DIY channels. N Bundy Electrical and NZ Builder are having busier-than-usual viewing days, too, but Workshop_Shorts' particular draw remains small pieces of garage hardware with surprisingly consequential differences.
