5MadMovieMakers has given its backyard railway a new passenger: an iPhone 16 Pro. In "Train Ride 3D," Robert Carlson uses the phone's Spatial Video feature to bring the route to headsets, 3D TVs and red-blue glasses.
The camera slips through grass, passes beneath patio furniture and heads indoors before threading through the garage beside a parked car. There's no narration, just the little train's mechanical soundtrack. Carlson says the heavy Powered Up engine brick helped counterbalance the phone perched on the motor. The journey also required editing: the layout was built in separate sections, rather than as one enormous unbroken railway.
The week's only upload has drawn roughly 6,600 views, a modest audience for a channel with such widely watched toy-car and train adventures. In the comments, viewers are digging out old 3D glasses, discussing their viewing devices and singling out the sound of wheels on track. One has added the ride to an ASMR playlist.
Elsewhere, "I tried to make a video game" is the channel's busiest upload right now, adding about 102,000 views a day. Its subject is Raxon Rooms, Carlson's homemade mansion-exploration platformer. The original "Lego Train Odyssey" and the manually rotoscoped "Hot Wheels Flip Out" also remain active draws.
Subscribers held steady over the week, while today's viewing pace is below the channel's usual level. Even so, its weekly views were the largest among the nearby DIY and building channels here, including Engineezy and Blacktail Studio Uncut. For the new train ride, the distinctive experiment isn't a bigger layout: it's giving that familiar route another dimension.
