A backyard Lego train, seven sections long, keeps 5MadMovieMakers rolling

Robert Carlson built the layout over three days, and with no new upload it is the summer video still carrying the most traffic.

Lego Train Odyssey

No new videos, plenty of motion. 5MadMovieMakers posted nothing over the past seven days, and the channel still took in more than nine million views, running a little above its usual daily pace.

The busiest film is "Lego Train Odyssey," posted in August. Robert Carlson, credited in the description, built a huge Lego layout across the backyard over three days and staged the ride in seven sections: grassy fields, dark forests, brick walls and caves, then home again. It was filmed on a GoPro riding the train, which is the whole charm: you see the yard from a minifigure's seat. The description also carries an in-joke, asking viewers to praise it as a reading of Homer's epic, to confuse the bots.

Two older toy films are keeping it company. "Hot Wheels Flip Out" turns diecast cars upside down with slow motion and frame-by-frame rotoscoping, and its note warns that only the very patient should try it. "Marble Maze," from the spring, asks you to guess a marble's path through Gravitrax tracks and Keva planks before physics answers.

Among the DIY and building channels near its size, only Engineezy gained more views this week. Blacktail Studio Uncut ran at more than double its usual pace, while John Malecki had a slower stretch. For a family studio that has been inventing since 2010, a toy train circling the lawn is doing the heavy lifting.
