ABC's season-premiere promo sends Station 113 into a basement where a trapped woman screams that the water is blood.

The water is red. A woman trapped in a basement laundromat screams, "The basement is flooding with blood!" and 9-1-1: Nashville's firefighters wade in to find her.

That is the hook of a 25-second promo ABC posted for the show's season premiere. It passed 124,000 views in its first 14 hours, far past what the channel's Shorts usually manage in a whole day. Two more Nashville premiere promos went up the same day and also drew big audiences, though this one, built on a single rescue, drew the most.

The clip opens on a man toppling backward off a raised stage, then cuts to the basement. With a captain whose uniform tag reads "CAPT. PRATT" looking on, one firefighter calls for Judy, says "Going under" and disappears beneath the surface. He comes back up carrying an unconscious woman, and the responders start resuscitation: "No respirations, we think she might have hit her head."

The comments came in far faster than on a usual first day for the channel's Shorts, and the most liked of them asks the obvious question: why would a basement fill with blood? The promo never answers. Others are more interested in Taylor's place in the 113 crew, and a couple compare the show to Paw Patrol for grown-ups.

The spinoff, which ABC's tags tie to Chris O'Donnell, LeAnn Rimes and Kimberly Williams-Paisley, has more on the way: a separate sneak peek is tagged around a hornet attack at a museum.
