Grey's Anatomy - Season 23 Official Trailer on ABC

ABC's channel posts a steady stream of short clips, and a new one usually ends its first day with somewhere around 1,600 views. The Grey's Anatomy season 23 trailer had passed 300,000 in eleven hours.

The trailer runs under a minute and a half and packs in a season's worth of trouble. Ellen Pompeo's Meredith Grey opens it walking a hospital corridor, then meets a Dr. Seth Norton, who says the hospital "could really use your expertise on our VIP floor." The new wing turns out to be lavish enough for a pampered dog. Ben Warren tells a colleague caught leaving an on-call room to "come clean, and get ahead of it." Then comes the line that turns the trailer: "Two planes collided on the runway at the airport." More than 200 injured passengers head for the ER, the surgeons suit up, and someone says, "Let's go to battle."

Longtime viewers know planes have never been kind to this hospital. The season 8 finale crashed a plane carrying Grey Sloan's own doctors, and that crash cost the show Lexie Grey and Mark Sloan.

The quieter news belongs to Chandra Wilson, who has played Miranda Bailey since the pilot. In the trailer, Bailey says she is getting a master's in public health. The comments came in dozens of times faster than on a usual ABC first day, and the most liked of them cheers that decision. Others are glad that, 23 seasons in, Grey is still in Grey's.
