ABC sends the 9-1-1 cast to volcano-building class

National Geographic Explorer Andrés Ruzo joins a hands-on experiment, while Nashville's season-return promo draws the week's biggest new audience.

Emergency readiness has acquired a craft-project component. ABC's new "9-1-1 Cast Builds a Volcano with National Geographic Explorer Andrés Ruzo 🌋" pairs the cast with an explorer for a readiness check and a model volcano they build and erupt themselves. Oliver Stark, Ryan Guzman and Gavin McHugh are named in the upload's tags, giving the disaster drama a decidedly hands-on companion piece.

It is also ABC's busiest upload right now by daily views, though the week's largest new audience belongs to the 9-1-1: Nashville season-return promo, at roughly 90,000 views. Nashville supplied a lighter behind-the-scenes entry too: Juani Feliz, Michael Provost, Hunter McVey and Hailey Kilgore are named in a clip about imitating hornet sounds. Emergency television apparently requires a surprisingly varied skill set.

Across fifteen uploads, the network also found room for Grey's Anatomy's VIP hospital floor and a Who Wants to Be a Millionaire geography moment featuring Timothy Simons and Jackie Tohn. The mix runs from fictional workplace complications to the very real problem of letting your trivia partner handle a question.

ABC added nearly two million views over the week, with its subscriber count unchanged. That weekly viewing total was close to HBO's; Peacock and HBO Max had substantially busier weeks. Back on ABC's own shelf, the newer "Faculty bonding, courtesy of General Hospital." and "9-1-1 | That Sinking Feeling Sneak Peek" join the volcano experiment among the uploads drawing the most daily viewing.
