A breadboard digital clock keeps ticking for Ben Eater between uploads
His summer build series, counter chips and all, is drawing the most daily views, with a 1,000-day-old BIOS video right behind.

Ben Eater posted nothing new over the past seven days, and his channel kept running a little above its usual pace anyway, adding a little over 200,000 views on the week.
Most of that motion comes from his clock project. "Let's build a digital clock!", now about two months old, is the video gathering the most views each day, close to 300,000 in total. Its sequel, "Dividing a signal by counting: Breadboard clock part 3," is only four weeks old and follows close behind. Its chapters lay out the lesson plainly: how to count pulses, which counter chips do the job, and how to divide a signal by 60 and then by 50 before building the 60 Hz circuit. Anyone who grew up wondering how a wall clock knows a second has passed gets the answer one chip at a time.
The third video in the list is a reminder of what built the channel. "A simple BIOS for my breadboard computer" comes from his long series on a 6502 computer wired up on breadboards, and a thousand days after it went up it still draws a steady stream of viewers, now past half a million.
Among the science and experiment channels around his size, the loud week belongs to Chris Boden, while BBC Earth Science is running at more than double its usual pace. Tibees, the nearest in size, is moving at a very similar gentle clip to Ben Eater's own.
