Brighter Paws' horse isn't finished with the scratches

Viewers turn an officer and a persistent horse into a workplace comedy, with the four-legged colleague calling the shots.

Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 1,027,761 views a day, 40 times a normal first day on this channel (26,004).

When Your Horse Denies Your BreakWhen Your Horse Denies Your Break

A scratch break has become an unusually big moment for Brighter Paws. “When Your Horse Denies Your Break” reached roughly 760,000 views in its first 13 hours, far beyond the channel's usual first-day audience for a Short.

The comments supply a very specific reading of the encounter: the officer might be ready to stop, but the horse would like the scratching to continue. Viewers point to its lower lip, invent instructions from the four-legged colleague and joke about who really has authority in this partnership.

The discussion is unusually busy, too. Before a full day had passed, the video had already collected more than a dozen times the comments a Brighter Paws Short typically receives on its first day.

Alongside the jokes are stories from people who recognize that persistence. One viewer describes getting trapped between mares in the paddock, scratching a horse with each hand. Another remembers a Clydesdale demonstrating just how much force a nudge of the head can carry.

What viewers say

  • "I neighh'ver said stop, keep rubbing bruh" 😂😂
  • Our horses won´t let me out of the pasture/fold/field if I begin scratching even one of them. Some times the mares stands on either side of me and and I have to use one hand on each horse... Gotta love them!

    EDIT:
The judges on how to spell or use the correct terms has been upon me with their might. Telling me that it is NOT ok to write wrong or spell wrong on the big internet and instead of just correcting me, I had lessons in language and where I live. Damn man... Sorry for not being perfect! See this is the reason I like animals more than people. Animals don´t judge!

  • This is too adorable. My heart goes out to the officer. The one with two legs, it looks like he's having a hard day from his work colleague.

  • Had a Clydesdale do this to me once. Nothing more humbling than being 300 lbs and having a horse nearly knock you off your feet with just its head
  • Ahhh. He wants more loving, we all do big fella.
  • Always cool to see police horses around the UK. A pair walked down my street (quite randomly) and you never quite grasp the sheer size of them until they're a couple metres away from you
