Will Compton's Nebraska history lesson, from Frank Solich to Indiana
The Huskers alum talked for minutes without interruption on Locker Room CFB, and viewers from Texas to Oregon wrote in to say they had been won over.
Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 76,608 views a day, 15 times a normal first day on this channel (5,080).
CFB Week 6 Picks: Will Compton HAMMERS Nebraska + Josh Pate, Taylor Lewan SPLIT On Alabama-Georgia
Will Compton played his college football in Lincoln, and in the Week 6 episode of Locker Room CFB he made sure everyone at the table remembered it. Before Nebraska hosts Indiana, the defending national champion, Compton gives what the description calls a Frank Solich history lesson. He then backs the Huskers with five units to win outright, the strongest bet he could put behind his old school.
Viewers say the lesson ran for several minutes while Taylor Lewan and guest Josh Pate stayed quiet. The comment section filled about fifty times faster than on a usual first day for the show, and most of it is about that stretch. A Texas fan married to a Nebraska native tells a dating story about criticizing Scott Frost. A Michigan fan says he is riding with the Huskers this Saturday. A viewer from Eugene, Oregon, says he ordered Nebraska gear. An Indiana fan compares Nebraska football to IU basketball, a big name that younger fans have never seen at its best.
The Nebraska case is not only sentiment. Pate says his model's favorite play on the board is Nebraska plus 7.5. The episode runs past an hour and a half and also covers Texas against Oklahoma, Oregon against UCLA, and Georgia against Alabama, where Pate and Lewan disagree. It also has a segment on the Michigan group chat leak. Regular viewers noticed one more change: the Ford Leaderboard finally has its own graphic.
The show will be in Lincoln on Friday for Bussin' on Campus, the night before the game. Close to 90,000 people had watched the episode a little over a day after it went up.

@layytonn2See it on YouTubeThis show is like the 2019 LSU of CFB shows.
@HezzyHoudiniSee it on YouTubeAs a Texas fan married to a Nebraska native, this is EVERYTHING. I accidentally made her cry on the third date by talking down on Scott Frost. She is a Nebraska hard core fan. Now, her Dad was immediately called and backed me up, but there are fans who haven’t lost the memory and expectation of who Nebraska should be.

Michigan fan here. We ride with Willy C and Nebraska on Saturday.
@itsTVDubSee it on YouTubeAs an IU fan, it's pretty crazy how everything Will talked about with Nebraska football is so similar to how IU basketball is right now. Younger kids don't understand what the big deal is with IU bball because they haven't been relevant for a while. Regardless, Saturday should be one hell of a game!
@Hoosier3091See it on YouTubeAs a Trojan, I deeply sympathize with Willy C and, personally, was enthralled with his History of Nebraska (Fandom) for Dummies
