Portable PS2 screens bring road-trip memories back to Denki
The channel's only new upload revisits the practical side of the 2000s' unusual console accessories.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
WTF did they make for the PS2?!
A television occupied by roommates was no obstacle if your PS2 had its own little screen. That is one viewer's memory beneath Denki's “WTF did they make for the PS2?!”, an accessory retrospective that has passed 108,000 views.
The description frames these gadgets as some of the era's more practical oddities, and the comments supply the use cases. One viewer recalls playing Final Fantasy XI while the main TV was busy; others remember movies and games on long car rides. An owner of the Intec screen controller remembers finding it in GameStop's used-accessory section and being surprised by its speakers. For all the title's disbelief, these attachments had a job to do.
The PS2 upload is also Denki's most active video right now. Behind it, “WTF is this Tech from AliExpress?!” explores ceramic keycaps, a drawing robot and a mini e-reader, while “The PS4 is GREAT in 2026!” makes the channel's case for restoring older hardware.
Denki added about 1,000 subscribers over the week, though current daily viewing is well below its usual pace. Nearby gadget channel PCMag recorded a similar weekly views gain, while Monitors Unboxed had a busier week. Denki's own standout remains a console accessory that let gaming continue when someone else needed the TV.

I had the MadCatz screen on my PS2 and one for my Gamecube. I thought it was neat playing Final Fantasy 11 on it when the TV was in use by my roommates.

I had that Intec screen controller back in the day. I got it for like 7 bucks from GameStop. They had the controller and accessories in their used accessories section(no case though). I'm not sure they even knew what they had because they weren't exactly being sold cheap at MSRP.
You best believe I scooped that up ASAP. I loved that thing though. Speakers on that thing could crank.@lchambers56See it on YouTubeI actually owned that very MadCatz portable screen, and it actually came in handy on family road trips! Plug in the PS2 to a nearby car inverter and hook the thing up to the portable screen and we basically staved off hours of sitting in the car playing DDR, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4, and SSX Tricky with my siblings :o
@IwanamiLureSee it on YouTubei feel like any kid from around that era saw that screen. youd see it on the covers of magazines, in magazines, in popup ads, and on tv.
@user-tb3ih9lt4fSee it on YouTubeThe irony of this popping up, I just picked up 2 ps2s earlier today at my local farmers market
