Train, Plain White T's, the Chainsmokers and even a Trolls number turn up in the comments of a Short billed as the song everyone knows from the first word.

A new Short from Elise Ecklund usually closes its first day somewhere under 100,000 views. "the song EVERYONE knows from the first word!" had nearly 870,000 ten hours after it went up.

The title is a dare, and the comment section took it. Many viewers say she plays a single chord and sings one word, "hey", and that is where the agreement ends. As one popular reply points out, a lot of songs start that way. Some went straight to Train's "Hey, Soul Sister", others to Plain White T's and "Hey There Delilah". A large group heard the opening of the Chainsmokers' "Closer", a few landed on Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe", and one corner of the thread drifted to the Trolls soundtrack. Somebody admits bracing for a Rickroll.

The guessing game made the comments unusually busy: close to 2,000 in those first ten hours, more than three times what her Shorts usually gather in a full day.

It is the kind of thing her channel, which describes itself simply as music and vlogs, does well: a guitar, a hook and an audience that answers back. The two weeks before brought "Growing Up Ugly" and "How is this possible?!", each past a million views. This one is now the quickest starter of the lot.
