Timber gets its turn in HerDIYHome's dresser-filled week
Eight uploads include a fluted furniture makeover and a spare room designed for both filming and sleepovers.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
Dresser Refresh, stripping and varnishing ☺️ #furnituremakeover
Paint or bare timber? HerDIYHome made room for both approaches, but the week's most watched new upload prompted a particularly clear conversation about keeping wood visible.
"Dresser Refresh, stripping and varnishing ☺️ #furnituremakeover" reached about 22,000 views. Several commenters focused on the decision not to paint the piece, with one imagining the restored furniture standing a little taller. It is a fitting companion to "Team Paint or Team Timber? Should you paint the trim. 🫢", where the creator says the choice depends on whether the wood suits the home's character.
"ASMR Dresser Makeover" offered another way to retain a timber look while changing the design: cleaning and sanding, adding Tasmanian oak half-round dowels to the drawer fronts, then applying oak stain and satin varnish. T-bar handles finish the update.
The week's projects also stretched beyond furniture. A tomato cage, ball, white tablecloth and fairy lights become a glowing ghost, while "I Needed Two Rooms… But Only Had Space for One!" gives a recording studio a second job as a sleepover room. That video is sponsored by Ecosa. A terracotta-red limewash wall supplies the filming backdrop, with folding armchairs providing the extra beds.
HerDIYHome added roughly 1,000 subscribers over the week, although daily viewing is currently well below its usual pace. Among the nearby DIY channels, Workshop_Shorts had a particularly large viewing week; HerDIYHome's weekly views also put it among the more active channels in this group.
The strongest ongoing draw, though, predates these uploads: "These Bedrooms Were SO Boring… Look at Them Now" brings together ten transformations, from picture-frame molding to navy grid walls, and accounts for nearly all the channel's current daily viewing.
