Police hunt for two suspects after officer shot and injured in Nottingham
Members of the public helped a police officer after a shooting in Nottingham city center, Nottinghamshire Police say in a report carried by ITV News.
The officer was shot in the foot after approaching two suspects in the early hours of October 18. Both suspects fled. The officer remains in the hospital and is said to be in stable condition.
ITV's short report shows forensic investigators in white protective suits examining the street and photographing evidence. A close-up shows a double-barreled shotgun lying on the pavement inside the police cordon, while officers stand guard nearby.
The upload drew about 170,000 views in eleven hours, already far beyond the channel's usual first-day audience for Shorts. Its focus stays on the scene and the police response, rather than speculation about those involved.
Nottinghamshire Police say the investigation is progressing rapidly. They also acknowledge those who came to the officer's aid and ask anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
