Inside OPPO's assembly line with JerryRigEverything
A factory-floor preview and a sponsored full tour follow the Find X10 Pro Max from components to camera testing.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
THEY SAID NO CAMERAS
Robots dispense thermal paste, camera modules wait in trays, and JerryRigEverything gets to see phones being put together rather than take them apart. The channel's two uploads turn an OPPO factory visit into a short preview and a longer look at smartphone manufacturing.
"THEY SAID NO CAMERAS" opens with no-photography signs before heading onto the assembly floor. OPPO invited him inside, and the promotional Short follows motherboard assembly, camera installation and a studio where phone sensors are calibrated against a professional Hasselblad camera. Even the Luna White finish has a development story: he says OPPO went through dozens of iterations of his favorite color.
The preview has reached roughly 600,000 views. Viewers make much of the role reversal, joking about machines building the phones he is known for dismantling. Others are already asking for the iPhone Duo's inner-screen hardness test and teardown.
The promised follow-up, "How to Build a Smartphone - Full Factory Tour," arrived Wednesday and passed 400,000 views within its opening hours. OPPO sponsored the tour. It now has the strongest daily viewing momentum among the channel's active uploads, with the preview next and the earlier tree-planting project behind them.
Overall daily viewing is below JerryRigEverything's usual pace, while subscribers were unchanged over the week. Weekly views sit in much the same neighborhood as CrazyRussianHacker and iJustine; Kyle Krueger and Phone Repair Guru had substantially larger weeks. Here, the distinctive attraction is the chance to follow a phone's construction before the teardown begins.
