Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 688,305 views a day, 27 times a normal first day on this channel (25,212).

iShowSpeed vs Kvaratskhelia EA FC 1v1!

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia helped Napoli win an Italian league title in 2023. Facing iShowSpeed on a soccer video game is a rather different assignment.

Live Speedy's upload, "iShowSpeed vs Kvaratskhelia EA FC 1v1!", puts the Georgian winger into a head-to-head gaming encounter with Speed. It attracted nearly 387,000 views in its first nine hours, already far beyond the tens of thousands a regular upload on the channel usually draws over a full first day.

The appeal is more specific than simply watching a famous player pick up a controller. Viewers point to a moment when Kvaratskhelia scores using his own digital counterpart, and several discuss his teasing explanation for why Speed is losing: the team is missing Kvaratskhelia. Those are the moments occupying the comments, alongside jokes about Speed's growing collection of encounters with professional soccer players.

Another upload, "iShowSpeed Reacts To What Happened To Portugal..", also drew an unusually fast audience. But the Kvaratskhelia encounter gives this day's soccer coverage a personal touch: a player who normally appears inside the game gets to play it himself.
