Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

I made a record. And now I’m remaking it.

"I made a record. And now I'm remaking it." gives MALINDA's upload break a creative thread to follow. The two-month-old video is drawing the most daily views among her currently active uploads, with its title's promise of revision offering a different entry point from the sea-shanty covers many listeners know.

Nothing new arrived this week. Alongside the record update, "The best lyrics I've ever written…and in 5:4" continues drawing attention, as does "Imagine this song as your first dance at your wedding…". Between an unusual meter and an invitation to picture a wedding, those titles put songwriting choices and the uses listeners might find for a song close together.

That is quite a contrast with the channel's most-watched regular upload: "Drunken Sailor - MALINDA ft. Bobby Waters (OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO)", now at roughly 37 million views. Her collaborations on "Hoist the Colours" and the rock-minded "I See Fire" cover also remain prominent parts of that larger musical library.

The subscriber count held steady at 1.77 million. Nearby singer-songwriter channels had mixed weeks: RAYE and JohnMichaelHowell added subscribers, while doddleoddle and JENerationDIY were unchanged. For MALINDA, the attention among these active uploads is centered on making songs, remaking them and imagining where they belong.
