The release also completes a little Hollywood Bowl sequence on the channel, from "The Bowl is almost here! 🖤" to the accompanying announcement, "Orbit video (from the show opening) out now!" In that announcement's description, Cyrus says opening the Bowl shows with the song at a venue she had long adored was unforgettable.

Across the channel, weekly viewing reached roughly 34 million, while the subscriber count held steady. Among the nearby pop channels, Bruno Mars and Michael Jackson added subscribers; Ed Sheeran, Sia and Halsey were steady too.

The new performance isn't the only release doing substantial work. "MILEY - Different Religion (feat. Model/Actriz) [Official Video]," directed by Mert Alas, currently draws more daily views than "Orbit." There is a creative thread between them: McKimm directs "Orbit" and is credited as album creative director on "Different Religion," while Mika Altskan is director of photography on both.
