Max Velocity brings live storm chasers into Isaias landfall coverage
The emergency broadcast drew more than two million views within nine hours, while his earlier hurricane coverage also crossed a milestone.
Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 4,456,003 views a day, 5.4 times a normal first day on this channel (827,109).
🔴 BREAKING HURRICANE ISAIAS LANDFALL HAPPENING NOW - EMERGENCY COVERAGE - With Live Storm Chasers
Max Velocity moved from forecasting Isaias's approach to emergency coverage billed around its landfall, bringing live storm chasers into the broadcast. It reached roughly 2.4 million views in its first nine hours, already far beyond the channel's usual full-day audience for a longer video.
The broadcast follows a run of Isaias updates that shifted from a developing hurricane to warnings about its potential impacts. In “Hurricane Isaias Just Got Worse...,” the forecast description highlighted flash flooding from heavy rain, strong winds, coastal impacts and a possible tornado threat along and east of the storm's track. The earlier live broadcast, whose title said a Category 3 hurricane was expected, has also passed a million views.
Alongside the emergency coverage, Max's description makes a practical distinction: a live broadcast is not a substitute for official warnings. It urges viewers to have multiple ways to receive alerts and to check their local National Weather Service office, local officials and emergency management for forecasts and safety information.
