Los Tigres del Norte close El Tiny with an office singalong
NPR Music's Latin Music Month finale pairs accordion-driven classics with an emotional introduction, before Cardi B arrives at the desk.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
Los Tigres del Norte: Tiny Desk Concert
Jorge Hernández changes accordions, the band asks for requests, and the office gets its chance to sing. Los Tigres del Norte's Tiny Desk set ends with "La Puerta Negra," turning the close of NPR Music's El Tiny takeover into a shared chorus.
"Los Tigres del Norte: Tiny Desk Concert" was the most-watched of the channel's three new uploads, reaching roughly five million views. The Mexican norteño group opens with "Somos Más Americanos," then makes room for romance with "Golpes en el Corazón" and "Quiero Volar Contigo." Accordion, saxophone and bajo sexto give this small office performance a generous range of textures.
The introduction has become part of the conversation, too. Felix Contreras tells the room, "For as long as I can remember, these gentlemen have been giving us back our humanity." NPR Music says it restored the full introduction after temporarily removing it for editorial review. Viewers discuss its restoration alongside the sight of audience members singing together during the second song.
Cardi B supplies the week's other substantial arrival. Her concert moves from "Hello" and a reimagined "ErrTime" through "Be Careful," before closing with "Bodak Yellow" and "I Like It." Adam Blackstone handles bass, keys and musical direction. That newer set now has the strongest daily momentum, while Los Tigres del Norte and the earlier Panteón Rococó concert also remain active.
NPR Music added about 100,000 subscribers over the week, although daily views are below their usual pace. Among nearby music-media channels, COLORS is having a busier-than-usual spell. Here, the distinctive pairing is norteño storytelling followed by Cardi's live-band reworking of her catalog.

There is a moment during the second song, that pans over to everyone watching and singing along with tears in their eyes. That beautiful communion of a shared experience, in the moment, in life, in history brought me to tears
