OnePath connects Azerbaijan's hijab restrictions with its Israel ties
Dahlia Canbaz's report moves beyond school dress rules to examine oil, weapons and Azerbaijan's regional alliances.
Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 254,833 views a day, 23 times a normal first day on this channel (10,912).
THEY BAN THE HIJAB - ISRAEL VISITS THEM... 🤔
School gates give way to diplomatic meetings in OnePath Network's follow-up on Azerbaijan's hijab restrictions. Narrator Dahlia Canbaz places reports of schoolgirls being barred from classrooms alongside Israeli President Isaac Herzog's visit to President Ilham Aliyev two days later.
The Short reached roughly 228,000 views in 18 hours, far beyond the channel's usual first-day audience for the format. Its comment section was also already many times busier than a typical first day.
The report's central argument is about Azerbaijan's priorities. Canbaz describes a government seeking to limit Iranian religious influence at home while strengthening its partnership with Israel. She outlines an exchange built around Azerbaijani oil and Israeli weapons, then turns to Turkish criticism of the school restrictions and Aliyev's rejection of outside interference.
That sequence raises a question, rather than establishing a connection between the restrictions and Herzog's visit. The video's description acknowledges that the timing may be coincidental and says Israeli analysts deny a link.
OnePath's earlier upload, "HIJAB BAN BACKFIRES," concentrated on access to education and the backlash to the rules, as we reported here. This follow-up shifts the emphasis from the classroom to the alliances the channel argues help explain Azerbaijan's direction.
