Highway traffic waits for a beaver with a leafy load

The Pet Collective's shared roadside clip turns an unusual delay into a ready-made excuse for being late to work.

Beaver Blocks Highway Traffic While Hauling Massive Branch

The pickup stops. Ahead of it, a beaver is dragging a large, leafy branch across the highway, leaving the drivers to accommodate its delivery schedule.

Filmed from inside another vehicle, The Pet Collective's "Beaver Blocks Highway Traffic While Hauling Massive Branch" comes with an imaginary explanation to the boss for a late arrival. The woman behind the camera supplies a more immediate assessment: "You cannot get more Canadian than this."

The Short drew roughly 87,000 views in its first day, well beyond the channel's usual Shorts audience. The comment section was even more unusually busy, with eight times the normal first-day comments.

Much of that conversation treats the animal as a worker on a deadline. Viewers imagine a construction crew of one, suggest an engineering job title and pick up the description's branch-manager joke. Others focus on its determined little steps. The channel credits Shianne S. for sharing the footage.

The destination of the branch isn't shown. What the clip does capture is the whole crossing: the pickup eases past once the far lane is clear, and the beaver pulls its load onto the roadside grass as the passengers laugh.
