Recipe30's Joel gives the sea and Kenji a few minutes before turning on the stove. In "One pot, one chicken, two meals," the morning walk is part of the recipe's rhythm: fewer distractions, a dog playing in the waves, then something gently simmering at home.
"Let's focus on one thing at a time," he says. The cooking follows through on that thought. A whole chicken poaches with herbs and vegetables, which go in later to keep their shape. Some of the cooking liquid becomes a Dijon cream sauce with lemon; the remaining stock is the head start on soup, risotto or rice. The upload has passed 300,000 views, the largest audience for either of his two new videos.
Viewers are discussing the whole little film, not just dinner. The coastal walk, Kenji's beach time and Joel's reflections on distractions recur in the comments, alongside appreciation for turnips and the sauce.
The other new recipe, "The oven chicken that crunches like it was fried," tackles a different timing problem. Joel toasts the panko before coating thin cutlets, so the meat doesn't have to dry out while raw crumbs turn golden. Japanese mayonnaise replaces the flour-and-egg station, and lemon waits until serving to preserve the crunch.
Both new uploads are the channel's busiest videos right now, with an older blanquette de poulet bringing another gently poached French chicken dish into the mix. Recipe30 added roughly 913,000 views over the week, close to Senpai Kai's weekly audience. Subscribers stayed unchanged, while daily views are running above their usual level. Between the two new dinners, Joel has made room for both a slow simmer and a crisp crust.
