The Truth About Team Rocket 💯

The motto is the sticking point. Reighar's Team Rocket Short has viewers picking apart a Pokémon theory, especially its use of Jessie and James's familiar anime routine as evidence about the wider organization.

The upload reached roughly 178,000 views in six hours, already well beyond the channel's usual full-day turnout for a Short. Its comment section was nearly nine times as busy as a typical first day, before that first day was over.

Several viewers argue that Jessie and James's version of the motto should not be treated as Team Rocket's actual mission statement. Others question the distinction the theory draws between the anime and the games, pointing to Pokémon theft in the games and operations at Mt. Moon and in Johto. Giovanni's later Rainbow Rocket storyline also comes up as a counterargument to a kinder reading of his motives.

It's a more lore-heavy conversation than Reighar's recent fridge and egg debates. A Tony Stark-themed Short also drew an unusually strong start, giving the channel two notable pop-culture uploads alongside its anime-glasses and Peashooter topics.
