Rusty keys open SCP Explained's cabinet of strange doors

A sprawling animated compilation visits Alagadda, a monster pot and the Wanderers Library among three new uploads.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Twelve rusty keys and a mysterious door are only the entrance to SCP Explained's most-watched new upload. "Don't Open the Door to these SCP Secrets" gathers a long evening's worth of fictional anomalies, moving from SCP-004 into a Dracula factory, the Court of Alagadda and the distinctly uninviting "Indoor Salesman."

The compilation has drawn about 33,000 views. Its chapter list offers some wonderfully odd changes of scale: a monster pot gives way to the secret beneath SCP-087, before a gentlemanly sea snail and the Wanderers Library get their turns. In the comments, one viewer contributes an appropriately bureaucratic invention of their own: an SCP devoted to stealing pudding cups from the staff refrigerator.

The week's other uploads take different routes into horror. "SCP-012 The Composition That Will Lead to Your Death" centers on a fictional, unfinished musical score that compulsively draws people toward completing it. "10 SCPs Lurking in the Fields This Harvest Season" assembles another collection, including "The Seed," a car that follows you home and "The Knotty Stalker." That harvest compilation currently draws the most daily views of the three, despite having the smallest total so far.

Subscribers held steady over the week, while daily viewing is running somewhat below the channel's usual pace. Nearby mystery channel Nexpo is also having a slower-than-usual day; Tyler Blanchard has a much busier one. For SCP Explained, the freshest activity is out in those ominous fields, rather than behind the rusty-key door.
