Steam games on Android give TechDweeb a Droid Deck week

An installation guide joins a pocket-sized handheld review and the sixth Indie Bucket episode among three new uploads.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Buying games and finishing them are separate hobbies, TechDweeb jokes in his Indie Bucket description. This week's biggest upload adds another possibility: finding a new device to play them on.

“This is a HUGE deal” follows him installing Droid Deck, touring the app and trying Steam games on Android, with sections devoted to hardware and compatibility. It has reached roughly 174,000 views, the largest total among the week's new videos. Beneath it, viewers ask for a reliable game-compatibility database and an official Steam client for Android. Others linger on the Tomb Raider camera work and the important question of dog wallpaper.

“Konkr Pocket Block // They Nailed It” is now drawing the most daily views of any channel video. Its review covers the pocket test, controls, screen, gameplay and thermals, with TechDweeb declaring that emergency buttered bread has lost its pocket space. Meanwhile, “A Bucketful of Indie Gems!” ranges from The Textorcist to Cozy Caravan and An Arcade Full of Cats.

The channel added about 1,000 subscribers over the week, although today's viewing pace is well below usual. Nearby gadget channel Tech.Explain had a larger week of subscriber growth; Mark Ellis Reviews added a similar number to TechDweeb. His older “Do You Need Another Handheld?” also remains active, a fitting companion to a week offering fresh reasons to fill that bigger shelf.

  • I love Armada, but DroidDeck seems to be the best of both worlds. Having SteamOS and Android without the need to dual-boot is magical.
