Laptop or tablet? Tech Spurt's HP OmniBook X Flip Short, a week on

Chris Barraclough's quick look at a Windows convertible went quiet after its first day, then on its eighth brought in more than all its earlier days combined.

Why this story? The video is running at 26,640 views a day, 21 times its usual pace (1,266).

"Is This The Best 2-in-1 Windows Laptop/Tablet?" asks the title of a Short Tech Spurt posted on October 1, and for a week hardly anyone stopped to answer. It drew about 5,000 views on its first day and then settled down. Its eighth day brought more than 26,000, over twice what the clip had gathered in all the days before.

The title keeps the machine's name to itself, but Chris Barraclough's tags point to HP's OmniBook X Flip, in both its 14-inch and 16-inch sizes. It is a Windows laptop whose screen folds all the way back to turn it into a tablet. OmniBook is the name HP brought its consumer laptops under when it retired older brands such as Spectre and Envy.

The comment section is small but lively. Viewers ask about the price, one says Lenovo deserves a look, another jokes about what the letters HP really stand for, and one wonders whether their own laptop, with 4GB of DDR3 memory, still counts as usable.

Convertibles keep turning up on the channel this month. A few days later Barraclough reviewed the Acer GoogleBook 14, which his description bills as the only one of Google's new laptops that also folds into a tablet or a tent. That review and his deliberately blunt iPhone 18 Pro verdict are the week's biggest new uploads, and the channel as a whole is running ahead of its usual daily pace.
