Zach's Tech Turf asks if your GPU belongs up front
A cooling experiment by TrashBench gets a closer look in a Short that drew roughly 570,000 views in fourteen hours.
Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 745,269 views a day, 6.6 times a normal first day on this channel (112,578).
The Best Location to Install Your GPU
Moving the graphics card to the bottom of the case barely helped. Putting it directly behind the front intake fans was another matter.
In "The Best Location to Install Your GPU," Zach's Tech Turf walks through an experiment by fellow creator TrashBench, whose footage is credited on screen. The question is less about buying a better graphics card than giving the one you already own a different place to breathe.
The first attempt used a riser cable to relocate the card to the bottom of the case, with the dust filter removed. GPU temperatures hardly changed. The next arrangement placed the card vertically at the front, directly behind the intake fans. With the case fans and the card's own fans blowing onto it, the reported GPU hotspot temperature fell by about 19 degrees Celsius.
That result comes with an awkward practical detail: Zach points out that there isn't an official mounting method for the configuration shown. His closing observation is deliberately dry: "More fans equals more cooling. Shocking."
The Short has already drawn several times the channel's usual full-day views. In the comments, viewers are discussing bottom-mounted intake fans as a more conventional way to direct air toward a graphics card. Others imagine a 3D-printed mount, while one joke takes the relocation idea all the way outside the window.

I bet you could 3d print a mount for that position
@6Jarv9See it on YouTubeYou can do that with intake fans at the bottom. Blowing cool air directly towards the GPU fans.
