Why this story? The whole channel is running at 116,083 views a day, 8.8 times a normal day (13,200).

Zac Bell's hockey channel is having a much busier day, drawing roughly 116,000 views across its uploads. Among his recent releases, the clear standout is a Matthew Schaefer video with a swimming joke in the title.

Posted October 13, "Matthew schaefer had my swimming 🏊‍♂️" has reached about 145,000 views. Bell paired it that day with "POV Sidney Crosby is shooting on you 😮‍💨," offering a shooter's-eye subject from the other end of a famous stick.

That puts recognizable players at the front of a channel whose catalog also makes room for equipment experiments and hockey in unlikely places. Bell's most-watched Shorts include stickhandling through a dealership, while his regular-video favorites include pond hockey on crystal-clear ice and shooting with an exceptionally light stick.

The Schaefer upload stands out among the recent releases, though its total alone doesn't establish how much it contributed to today's channel-wide jump.
