"I've never done this before. I've never run anything longer than 26.2 miles," Austen Alexander says as he sets off with the One Flag Forward runners. His latest challenge has a purpose beyond a personal distance record: carrying an American flag in remembrance of fallen service members.

"I Tried to Survive an UItramarathon" follows his attempt at the relay's final 38 miles. This is a USAA-sponsored video, featuring Team RWB and wear blue: run to remember. Before running, Alexander joins a Circle of Remembrance and dedicates his effort to Gabriel V. Edwards, Benjamin Kyle Torrence and Quinn R. Conley.

The conversations give the miles their meaning. Team RWB's Michael "Sully" Sullivan discusses continuing to challenge yourself after military service. Lisa Hallett explains how losing her husband, Captain John Hallett, in Afghanistan led her to found wear blue: run to remember. Later, Alexander's leg pain forces him to walk and the group pulls away. "I've lost the group, but I'm going to keep going," he says.

The upload drew roughly 6,000 views in its first nine hours. Elsewhere on the channel, the San Diego dating-and-fitness show "20 Girls Fight for 3 US Marines" remains the largest daily draw, while the older "US Marine vs Royal Marine | Who's Fitter?!" continues finding viewers.

Subscribers were unchanged over the week, and daily views are running below Alexander's usual level. Among nearby fitness channels, The Fashion Jogger and Men's Health are having busier-than-usual days. Alexander's new contribution is more personal: an endurance test built around the people being remembered, not just the distance covered.
