Sports' biggest robberies, and Broadcast Boys' viewers file their own appeals

Four days in, the list of stolen games and lopsided decisions is pulling in far more viewers a day than it did at the start, and its comment section has become a second list.

Why this story? The video is running at 20,869 views a day, 6.1 times its usual pace (3,398).

THE BIGGEST ROBBERIES IN SPORTS!! #sportsTHE BIGGEST ROBBERIES IN SPORTS!! #sports

"THE BIGGEST ROBBERIES IN SPORTS!!" opened quietly by Broadcast Boys standards, with about 8,400 views on its first day. On its fourth it brought in more than 20,000, and the whole channel had a busier day than usual with it.

The idea suits a channel that has spent recent weeks on sports grievances: NBA award snubs, champions who won without their best player, and now the games and decisions people still call stolen. A list like that is an invitation to argue, and viewers have accepted it.

The most liked comment is a correction. It says the video credits one game to Matthew Stafford when Jared Goff was the quarterback that day, an easy slip for two players whose careers crossed when the Rams and Lions traded them for each other in 2021.

The rest of the section reads like an appeals court. Cowboys fans are still certain Dez Bryant caught it. Raiders fans bring back the Tuck Rule game against the Patriots. Others nominate Chris Paul's vetoed trade to the Lakers, Aaron Gordon's dunk contest, Chelsea against Barcelona in 2009 and Ohio State's late pass interference call against Miami. Jon Jones against Dominick Reyes drew the longest thread of replies. Boxing has its own corner, from Floyd Mayweather in Atlanta in 1996 to Roy Jones Jr. in Seoul, and several viewers recall that Park Si-hun, who got the decision there, later handed Jones the gold medal.

  • Let's go Jon Jones vs Reyes.

Maybe not on the same level as these bigger sports but it's definitely the biggest UFC robbery.
