A launch-event recap brings Korean street food, playable stations and rooftop pyrotechnics into Modern Warfare 4's promotional week.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
From Modern Warfare 4 to the streets of LA and London.
Neon storefronts, Korean street food and an explosion above the set: Call of Duty's launch campaign has taken a piece of Modern Warfare 4 off the screen. Its most-watched new upload follows pop-up events on Sunset Boulevard and at Shoreditch Stack, where visitors walk through a recreation of Mayhem Alleyway before sitting down to play.
"From Modern Warfare 4 to the streets of LA and London." is a promotional recap, with tactical-costumed staff, gaming stations and a nighttime fireworks display. It has drawn roughly half a million views. In the comments, viewers connect the installation to the campaign's opening, while others propose giving this cinematic world a movie of its own.
There is a more conversational companion among the week's ten uploads. "Barry Sloane & María Elisa Camargo Bring MW4's Price and Valeria Garza to Life | COD POD Ep 12" goes behind the performances, from performance-capture challenges to finding Price's voice. The chapter list also promises an unlikely alliance and a lesson in teaching Price Spanish, small character details amid the launch spectacle.
The channel added about 40,000 subscribers over the week. Daily viewing is running at roughly four times its usual level, with the older DMZ early-access gameplay trailer supplying by far the most momentum. League of Legends also had a substantial viewing week among fellow game channels, while Fortnite's daily pace stayed close to normal.
For Call of Duty, the countdown has reached the date printed across the pop-up's billboards: October 23. The week's street-level spectacle now sits alongside the actors explaining how they built the people inside it.
