Casseroles deserve another look in Ethan Chlebowski's kitchen
His only new upload takes the oven-baked format through breakfast, lunch and dinner, with separate taste tests.

Why I Was Wrong About Casseroles.
The Midwest has notes. Beneath Ethan Chlebowski's "Why I Was Wrong About Casseroles.", viewers are pointing out that, in their kitchens, the casserole never went away.
His only upload of the week has reached roughly 435,000 views. It builds a full day's menu around the format: a breakfast casserole, a lunch installment tagged with King Ranch casserole, and a dinner section whose tags include cottage pie and red wine braised beef. Each gets its own taste test. That fits Ethan's how-and-why approach to cooking, treating a familiar dinner category as something worth taking apart and understanding.
The comments add a practical counterpoint. One viewer describes the tuna-and-mushroom-soup casserole their mother made, while another suggests dragging a fork through a cottage pie's mashed-potato topping to create more browned edges. Others argue that pantry ingredients and minimal precooking are central to the casserole's appeal. There are requests for Crock-Pot meals, too: the conversation is as much about everyday convenience as recipes.
The casserole episode is drawing the largest daily audience among his most active videos. "Is Expensive Honey a Scam?" follows, with yogurt-bowl and cake comparisons giving its price question a cooking context. The older "I Tried To Eat Healthy for $10 a Day" also continues to pick up views, keeping budget-minded meals alongside the ingredient science.

Midwest checking in. You may have stopped, but we didn't.
@19fd19fdSee it on YouTubeAS a brit the best bit of advice for a Cottage pie is to run over all the mash with a fork, makes loads of surface area and craggly bits to get some nice colour on them :)
@WillWatchesSee it on YouTubeCasseroles are a lot like the stir fry in that they're a super versatile way to combine a lot of different things into a full meal and have leftovers. I still make my mom's tuna fish casserole all the time: Mushroom soup, chunky canned tuna, diced onions and peppers, egg noodles and a generous amount of cheese on top. Seasoned well it's delicious, reasonably healthy and makes amazing leftovers.

Next do Crock pot meals!!!
@madridla711See it on YouTubecan i just say i LOVE how you list ingredients with the flavour tags, it makes it so easy to understand the purpose of each (how a well-rounded dish is built) & what you could substitute it with if necessary. great choice!!
@miriam7192See it on YouTubeNo one stopped in my family. I made one last night. Love one pot casseroles I can just chuck in the oven. Easy weeknight supper.
@amandaknapp8955See it on YouTubePlease consider making more blueprints videos like your video on how to eat noodles everyday without getting bored
@elizabethdavis1696See it on YouTubeJust a different option for the braised beef one. If, like me, beef is pretty expensive near you, you could always do the same thing with a cheaper pork shoulder, and add a little beef bouillon and/or Worcestershire sauce if you want that beefy umami flavor. Gets you pretty close and saves a few bucks 👍
@SknowingWolfSee it on YouTubeIt looks like the gallon ziplock you used for 'piping' was one of those designed to "stand and fill". For those bags it is easier to 'pipe' out of a cut corner of the TOP of the bag through the ziplock part.
